Leaked internal documents drafted by Facebook privacy engineers show the company may not have full knowledge of its data sharing, Vice reports. Engineers from the Ad and Business Product wrote they “do not have an adequate level of control and explainability over how our systems use data” and the inability to show regulators proof of control increases “our risk of mistakes and misrepresentation.” A Facebook spokesperson said, “it’s simply inaccurate to conclude” that the document shows the company’s inability to comply with global privacy regulations.
