Draft data protection act accepted by the Parliament

The Parliament of Finland approved, on 13 November 2018, the draft data protection act (‘the Draft Act’), which seeks to implement the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (‘GDPR’) and the Data Protection Directive with Respect to Law Enforcement (Directive (EU) 2016/680) (‘the Law Enforcement Directive’). Moreover, the Draft Act includes recommendations proposed by the Administration Committee in its earlier reports.
